Mrs. Simon has 16 years teaching experience with the Alva Public Schools, and is currently the Head of the English Department.  She currently teaches English I and IV at the High School.  She is also the Sponsor of the Teacher Cadet program for High School students interested in pursuing a career in teaching.

Mrs. Simon has been named the Alva High School Teacher of the year for 2005-2006, 2007-2008, 2011-2012, 2017-2018.  In 2007-2008 she was named Alva Public Schools Teacher of the Year.  Mrs. Simon was named the Alva Chamber of Commerce Teacher of the Year in 2017-2018.  Mrs. Simon serves on the Leadership NW Oklahoma Board of Directors, Bank it Board of Directors, and the Alva Hospital Authority/Share Hospital Board of Directors.

Mrs. Simon is married to Chad Simon, and her parents are Sam and Barbara Long.  Mrs. Simon enjoys attending Goldbug and Ranger events, and daily walks.
